"The Best Way to Bring Christmas Cheer..."
“. . . is singing loudly for all to hear.” ~ Buddy the Elf
During the month of December, there was plenty of cheer to go around. It all started with the dressing of the tree in the front lobby.
Soon after, holiday music from the Opening and Closing Announcement Team filled the air as we prepared for first period; sure — there were groans at thought of these jingles so soon after Thanksgiving, but the groans soon turned to singing and dancing as we started each day.
Peer Leadership’s Penny Wars and Give a Christmas Tree Topper brought a spirit of friendly competition.
Carpentry saved the city thousands as they headed downtown to begin work constructing the community ice rink.
SkillsUSA Hot Cocoa Fridays warmed the souls — and a marshmallow or five added an extra smile.
Pajama Day and the consecutive Holiday Dance helped us feel like we were Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree.
Festive window paintings from Commercial Arts dotted the landscape.
SkillsUSA headed to Erie for their annual District 10 Leadership Conference
The annual Student vs. Staff Volleyball game provided a respite from those final Scrooge-like days that, otherwise, might had made the day drag on.
Our final moments were filled with laughter as Peer Leadership’s Give a Christmas Pie Throw rounded out the week with a bit of sweet satisfaction.
In all — potentially dreary days had us feeling like our small hearts grew three sizes” over the course of the month to make it a December to remember!
We hope your break was filled with rest, cookies, and lots of love. We look forward to seeing you soon! Here’s to making 2020 a year of skill, success, and smiles!
