Co-Op Spotlight: Linsey Watson
Congratulations, Linsey Watson ~ Vet Assistant, on landing a great job through our co-op program at LCCTC.
Her task as a Vet Assistant: to care for the well-being of animals in the hospital; to disinfect kennels, examination rooms, and operating rooms; to monitor animals after surgery and assist a veterinarian in a variety of other duties; and of course, to clean up pet messes, at Ellwood Animal Hospital.
“I really enjoy seeing seeing pets go from being sick to healthy,” Linsey states, “as we treat illnesses and make sure they have the best quality of life.”
Linsey is an ideal candidate for the co-op program at LCCTC because she has learned all of the theory and hands-on skills in shop, and she can now master them as she applies these skills on the job.
Linsey states, “I’m able to have on-the job learning experiences because of the Co-op program.” This experience will really aid her in her post-secondary schooling. Recently, she has been accepted to her first choice college, the Vet Tech Institute in Pittsburgh.
