Meet Vice President Maylene Ritter, Class of 2022
Say “Hello” to Maylene Ritter, Cosmetology senior from Ellwood, and the Vice President of the Class of 2022!
Q: What clubs, sports, or activities have you been involved in at LCCTC?
A: Since my sophomore year, I’ve been a Peer Leader and a member of the SkillsUSA Opening and Closing Team. I’m also in the National Honor Society.
Q: What is something interesting that people might not know about you?
A: My cat has thumbs! It can’t open doors or type on a computer, but there are definitely thumbs!
Q: *What are you most looking forward to this school year?
A: This year, I strive to prove to myself that I am capable of doing things I never thought I could do.
Q: Who in your life deserves a shout-out for helping you make it this far?
A: My little brother; he’s my hero! I will do anything to help him, and he’s my own personal cheering section!
Q: How has LCCTC changed your life?
A: Coming to this school was scary because, other than what I had heard, I really didn’t know what to expect. However, I soon found people who were like me, and I quickly found people who do care about me. I have learned so much, and I’m glad I took the chance to come here for my education!
Q: Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
A: One day, I would like to own my own nail salon, grow my family, and having a beautiful life.
Q: If there was one animal that would sum up who you are, what would it be? And why?
A: I would choose a giraffe. Sure, I am lovingly teased by my friends about my height. My own mother even had a yellow water bottle in heart-shaped giraffe spots made for me with the word on it, but it fits! I’m proud to be tall, beautiful, and amazing.
