Exceeding Expectations: Advanced Certifications for LCCTC Grads

We celebrate the accomplishments of our seniors ~ specifically those who have pushed themselves to excel.

For Oil and Gas students, this means earning the Offshore Oil & Gas Certificate. This training course introduces students a career in the Offshore Oil & Gas industry. It gives invaluable insight into working offshore, so certificate holders know what to expect on rigs, drillships, and support vessels. It covers all aspects of living and working offshore, getting there, what courses are required, safety, permits, safety, jobs, and lots more. Employers can use as evidence of offshore training, and it demonstrates that these graduates how to work safely in a hazardous environment, increasing their opportunity for a career in the Oil & Gas industry.

Our Machine Tool Technology shop uses NIMS Certification to meet industry standards. NIMS training ensures workers demonstrate a competitive edge when applying for jobs because they have demonstrated that their skills meet the industry established standards using a systematic and rigorous framework. Due to COVID, actual certification was not possible; however, this did not stop our MTT students from preparing for and successfully meeting standards in order to meet certification requirements.

NOCTI Certifications are used for all other shops at LCCTC: Automotive Technology, Collision Repair, Commercial Art, Computer and Office Technology, Construction Trades, Cosmetology, Electrical Occupations, Health Assistant, Restaurant Trades, Veterinary Assistant, and Welding. We celebrate the accomplishments of our seniors ~ especially those who scored Advanced on their NOCTI assessments which measure the skills needed by the future workforce. These assessments validate skills and ensure employers that their future workers are equipped to succeed.

Congratulations, to all the graduates, but special recognition goes to these students below who were able to laugh in the face of virtual shutdowns and meet and exceed expectations of both the written and hands-on sections for certification with advanced scores! Well done, LCCTC!
