Boice Brings Home the Gold at the WPIALs

“One of the greatest things about being able to come here — I don’t have to give up my sport to learn a trade I love!” As a member of the Veterinary Assistant shop, Lorena studies hands-on skills, office practices, and medical terminology — lots and lots of medical terminology, However, when that final bell rings, Lorena isn’t going home to play video games. She’s out there on the field of dreams with her team, hitting, catching, and making play after play, but just like the practice she does in the VA shop, it takes a lot of practice to see success in the park.

And after playing Girls Softball for longer than she can remember, all those years finally paid off in a WPIAL 1A Championship 3-2 win with her Union Scottie Team. In fact, it was a dual celebration for the Scotties as their Boy’s Baseball Team is also bringing home the gold!

Congratulations to the Union Scottie Softball and Baseball teams, but an extra congratulations goes to our very own Lorena Boice! Well-done!
