Lawrence County CTC CAP participates in Memorial Day Ceremonies

Three LCCTC students participated in the Mercer County Memorial Day Parade as members of the Civil Air Patrol (CAP) NER-PA-337: Cadet Airman Reeanne Mengel (MTT junior), Cadet Airman First Class Corey Corbin (HA junior), and Cadet Master Sergeant Ashton Critchlow (COS sophomore).

Our LCCTC CAPs conducted the flag ceremony and raised the flag to half mast, as is customary on the morning of Memorial Day. They presented the colors, folded and presented a flag to a family with a fallen soldier, and marched in the parade behind a horse cavalry.

“I like that there are so many elements to the program and that there is something for everyone,” shares C/MSgt Critchlow

CAPs encourage middle and high school character development, fitness, leadership, and aerospace curriculum as a weekly after-school program. There are opportunities for scholarships and networking opportunities for future military service. For more information on the Civil Air Program, please see this website: https://www.gocivilairpatrol.com/ If you would like to to check out the program in Lawrence County, meet at the National Guard Armory next to Cascade Park on Thursdays from 6-8:30 pm or contact the unit commander at cc337@pawg.cap.gov.
