Team Effort: Creating Light-Up-Night Float
by the Eagle Staff
One of the greatest lessons our students learn at LCCTC is the Value of Teamwork.
This was evidenced during the creation of the Candyland Gingerbread House for New Castle’s 2018 Light Up Night Parade, but it was not something that happened overnight.
Back in March of 2018, class advisers Mrs. Discello and Ms. Cozza met with Carpentry Instructor TJ Kelly to discuss the project — materials needed, methods of transportation and the like.
Once this year’s class officers were voted in, the theme for the Holiday Dance was decided, driving the blueprint for the float. As soon as the materials were ready, Carpentry students began their work, measuring twice, cutting, and assembling the “gingerbread house.” As soon as the last drywall screw was in place, it was time for the artistic eye and skillful hands of the Commercial Art students.
Each step required the very best of each individual’s talents, but it was a team effort, for sure. The end result: Amazing!
GREAT job, LCCTC! Once again, you make us proud!
