If... : 2019 SYaTP

“IF…” (from 2 Chronicles 7:14) was the theme for this year’s See You at the Pole 2019, which is all about students praying at their schools. On Wednesday, September 25th, students around the world gathered around their schools’ flagpoles to pray for their schools, friends, families, communities, and governments — and gather they did right here at LCCTC!!

This year’s event was organized by LCCTC’s Peer Leadership. They invited John Young, the Pastor of Bible Way Church of God in Christ in New Castle and Brian Rice from Community Outreach to lead the group in prayer.

“It was a special privilege for me,” says Savannah Young, daughter of Pastor John Young. “My father was able to be there to be there with me this morning; I was proud to hear him lift us up in prayer.”

Hand in hand, each who attended were thankful for the opportunity to live in a country where they were able to volunteer to gather like this. For Emily Miller, senior Gas and Oil senior, she has happily attended SYaTP since her sophomore year. She comments, “It was powerful to see the both the students and staff gather like this.”

“It was the message of unity that the students in our school needed — that I really needed,” senior cosmetology student, Amelia Hogue states. “It is special to be a part of something I feel so strongly about and to stand with others who feel the same!”

This is the 29th anniversary for See You at the Pole, a student-initiated and student-led event that started in Burleson, Texas. Since 1990, students have come together to intercede in prayer for their leaders, schools, and families.
