From Theory to Practice: Cosmetology Shows Skills

Our cosmetology students have been having a lot of fun recently putting months of theory to hands-on practice!

With one-hit wonders from thirty years ago playing in the background, students did their best 80's inspired do. It looks like they had some fun with this!

. . . and “Braid Day!”

Students even had some fun with color!

Here’s a Brave Merida look-alike after a perm-rod roll, dry, and style . . .

Perhaps a nod to the upcoming Disney-themed Hair and Makeup show? (. . . more details to come for that event!)

Does this sound like a lot of fun to you?

Cosmetology students learn about hair, skin and nail structure; basic anatomy and basic chemistry. These studies will enable them to better understand how to work effectively on clients. Current and accepted practices for sanitation and disinfection are also studied and practiced. Students will learn how to cut, style, color, permanent wave, and chemically relax hair and these skills to work in the student clinic.

The major objective of the program is to prepare students for license to practice in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. This program offers high school students the opportunity to gain the necessary skills and license in Cosmetology for which others have to pay private school tuition after graduation to obtain.
