A Big Hit!: Wounded Warrior Smash Car

What if you have a junkyard-ready car, a sledgehammer, and a “little” bit of frustration? You’d have the perfect ingredients for a Wounded Warrior Smash Car!

Well this perfect recipe came to be! LCCTC students had a chance to take out their frustrations AND do it for a great cause!

LCCTC graduate, Bruce Koelliker of Del’s Garage in Union Township arranged the donation of the smash car. Peer Leaders sold tickets for $1 for two whacks, $5 for 10, and $2 for a special ticket to use THOR, a hand-crafted hammer, created and artfully etched by MTT students.

On May 27th during lunch periods, LCCTC students vented their frustrations on a car destined for the scrapyard and raised $165 for the Wounded Warrior Project, a non-profit organization dedicated to ensuring that our servicemen and women experience mental, physical, and financial wellness.

Peer Leadership would like to thank the students and staff for their generous participation to the Wounded Warrior Project.

According to Mrs. Pasterik, advisor of Peer Leadership, “The Wounded Warrior Project was a big ‘HIT’!”
