Graduation: Behind the Scenes

It’s a time filled with selfies, with smiles and duck-faces, and of story-telling and memory-sharing. It’s a time to ask, “Are you gonna miss me?" with their teachers. It is the last official time they spend together as “students” because the next time we see them, they’ll be “graduates.”

Attendance was taken, portraits were taken, and the final time spent together was all taken in — these last moments of being together like this.

This time, thanks to a rain delay, the graduating class from LCCTC was able to spend it together within the same walls they have called “home” for the last three years, and like many unexpected blessings from the past year, this was a welcome one.

Soon, it would be time to board the shuttles and travel the field at Taggart Stadium where commencement would be held. It would be time to listen to a few motivational speeches, accept their diplomas, and move their tassels to the opposite side of their caps. It would be time to officially become adults and walk (and sometimes dance) into the next chapters of their lives.

But for now — we enjoy them as simply being kids.
