LCCTC had a "Field Day" on Tuesday!

No literally — the kids played outside! (and some games were inside but read on, and you’ll get the point . . .) It was the first-ever LCCTC X-Stream Field Games, sponsored by the Conservation Club and Sports Club.

During this day-long event that included kickball, volleyball, cornhole, and Wiffle ball, there were moments of spectacular athleticism, and then . . . there were moments that can certainly be contained in the history books.

We saw incredible catches, impressive saves, digs and dives, and a few aces, out-of-the-ball-park home runs, and pancakes, pennies, and push bags.

We also saw a lot of kids having fun, signs of good sportsmanship, and a lot of appreciation for the staff who put it together and monitored it, and for the administration who permitted it. In the air, there is hope for a better year next year with promises to themselves and to their teachers to work harder and to be more focused. There were cheers for a play well-made. There were a lot of smiles, a few grass-stained legs, and perhaps a touch of sunburn or a bug bite or two. Oh yeah — and Restaurant Trades made Snow Cones to chill the heat of the day.

Congratulations to the first-ever X-Stream champions- “The Barn Swallows” - Marcel Gibbs, Rodney Palmer, Joey Hasson, Nick Dando, Marquise Cureton, Caden Wingo, Kenny Hutchinson, Joel Johnson, and Alaric Moffatt- who took the championship games of both volleyball and kickball to put themselves ahead of the rest! By the way, did you know that Barn Swallows will migrate from PA in the fall all the way to the southern tip of Argentina to winter in the fields of Patagonia? That is an 8,000-mile flight! Impressive for ALL of our Barn Swallows! But if you ask anyone, being able to be outside and have a ton of good, clean fun hanging out with friends and friends who have now become like family was worth it all

In all — it was a GREAT day to be an LCCTC Eagle.
