LCCTC Students tae SRU Art Show by Storm!
Article by Desiree D. , Commercial Art Class of 2026
On November 14th, LCCTC Commercial Art students attended the Slippery Rock University regional High School Art Exhibition at the Martha Gault Art Gallery.
Commercial Art students have put in intense work and dedication in honing and developing their art skills over their entire lives, and for many having the opportunity to submit their work and have it on display for the general public was an amazing, although somewhat daunting, opportunity for them.
Many students took this opportunity and, not to our surprise, several of their artworks had been accepted into the show! There were six students who had their artwork accepted into the SRU show, and seven pieces had also been accepted! The following artists who had been selected are as followed; Seniors, Leo Dupuis, Catalina Binder, and Noah Salow. Juniors, Milo Fair, Bug Bailey, and Minner.
The reception for the SRU Art Show was a beautiful display of a room full of such talented and inspiring young artists all coming together to uplift and inspire each other. As the reception was coming to an end the judges started to announce the award ceremony. Several of our CA students waited in anticipation to see the results, and when one of our students, Layla Minner, was announced an award for an honorable mention the crowd erupted in applause and cheers! Congratulations Minner!
If you see any of your peers in the halls who had their artwork selected for this art show make sure to remember to congratulate them! It takes intense dedication and courage to have your art in an art show and I would like to personally congratulate all of these students for putting their artwork on display and for the amount of work they put into their art on a daily basis.
Keep up the great work Commercial Art, and congratulations again!
