Two Earn Scholarships to Touchstone Center for Crafts
It seems like LCCTC is having a triumphant end to the year, and the Commercial Art program has more good news to share as we close out our final days.
We just learned that two of our sophomores, Ryan Banks and Desiree D'Ambrosi, have been accepted to attend Touchstone Center for Crafts this summer on full scholarships! Nestled in Farmington near Kentuck Knob and Frank Lloyd Wright’s Falling Water, this world-renowned craft school is nature’s haven. LCCTC has been fortunate to have a total of 7 students attend the school on scholarships over the years.
Ryan and Desiree have the unique opportunity to work with and learn from highly accomplished national artists during the school's "Teen Week". This year Ryan will learn glass fusion techniques from Tennessee-based glass artist and designer Meredith Edmondson. Desiree will learn ceramics with North Carolina-based ceramist Melissa Weiss.
With this scholarship, the students have earned a full week of instruction, room and board, and meals. The value of their combined scholarships is around $4,000. This incredible opportunity is based on the merits of their portfolios and resumes.
