Annual LCCTC Chess Tournament

“Chess teaches a variety of skills, including visualization, critical thinking, and problem-solving. Students can then use those skills in their classes, and some studies show students who play in after-school or in-school chess clubs tend to get better grades in math. Chess also helps develop character” (Spectrum News).

The 3rd Annual Chess Tournament has officially concluded.  With 22 individuals competing in this year’s tournament, here are the top 8:

8. Colton Ours

7. Hype Hascall

6. Michael Mulroy

5. Cameron Conley

2. Kyle Conti

And congratulations to….ALEX ROUNTREE on winning this year’s tournament! The top 4 will receive medals for making it to the Chess Club finals. Instead of the Championship Trophy, Alex is opting for a brand new chess set and board.
