Good News: Small but Mighty Hansotte Earns Her 3rd Stripe
Say, “Hello,” to Senior Airman, Madison Hansotte, Health Assistant graduate from the Class of 2016!
Hansotte currently serves our country in Qatar as a 2T1X1, the job code for Ground Transportation. With three years under her belt in the United States Air Force, she is half-way there with three more years on her contract driving forklifts, busses, wreckers, and tractor trailers at the base.
She chuckles, “My favorite is the 10K A/T forklift; when I pull the king pin on the tractor trailer to uncouple it, I have to use my body against the tractor to pull it!”
At a whopping 5’3”, Hansotte isn’t your typical heavy equipment operator. “It’s pretty amusing when they see me driving these big machines. It’s pretty fun to tell people who ask about my job that I drive big heavy equipment — pretty much atypical for a female.” She often needs to show proof because they can’t picture it!
Hansotte says that the sunrises are the most beautiful time of her day, but around supper time, it is incredibly hot and humid — around 100 degrees on a typical day. In addition to the beauty of the landscape, she states, “I love meeting aircrew and people from around the world. I’ve met people from Australia, Britain, France, and U.A.E.”
For Hansotte, she has the world at her fingertips, and she’s not letting any opportunity pass her by. Small but mighty, Madison continues to take the world by the wheel and chart her own path!
LCCTC is proud of you, Senior Airman Hansotte!
Do YOU have good news! We’d love to hear about it!
