"In the Company of Giants": 2024 Hall of Fame

The weather couldn’t have been better for the 6th annual LCAVTS/LCCTC Hall of Fame.
As leaves of red, yellow and orange fell gently to the ground, current members of SkillsUSA greeted eager graduates with their families and guided them on a tour of their former home away from home. Walking the same hallways from yesteryear evoked glimpses of a happy past — some from 50 years ago! While renovations have been made, many things were the same, and they all ended their tour longing for more time in these hallowed hallways that brought so many smiles.
A quick drive to the new venue, at the campus of the Lawrence County Community and Action Partnership, and inductees and guests were treated to hors d’oeuvres and spirits provided by Turco Catering. This was a wonderful time to reconnect with friends from “a few years ago” and network with new ones — all with a common purpose — to honor the newest inductees into the LCAVTS/LCCTC Class of 2024 Hall of Fame.
After a delicious pasta and chicken dinner from Turco’s Catering, it was time to introduce and honor the inductees. Along with a Hall of Fame plaque of their own (with its twin hung in the hallway at their alma mater), each honoree was also recognized with a citation from both Representative Marla Brown and Senator Michelle Brooks (represented by Emily Strogantz).
Congratulations to the Class of 2024 Hall of Fame Inductees: Scott Jones, Jordan Singer Cretor, Jessica Bowen Myers, Diane Heaney Bell, Kathy Kendra, Coy Price, John Fraser, John Latina, John Allen, and Raylene Weigel Boots. To borrow a quote from Raylene Weigel Boots, “We are in the company of giants!”
