Cosmetologists Visit to Avalon

Level One sophomores journeyed to Avalon Nursing Home on Friday to provide manicure and cosmetology services to the residents.

The kids were kind, professional, and polite, and at the end of the day, they truly enjoyed themselves. Above and beyond the benefit of practicing their hands-on skills, the kids were able to practice good listening and speaking skills with the community.

Perhaps even more important, the kids were able to connect with the residents, listening to their stories, learning from their wisdom and experience; in doing so, they were able to understand how important it is to show kindness and care to others. The residents spoke about how much they enjoyed the visit.
